Andy Logsdon

Andy was born June 4, 1959, in Livermore. He attended St Michael's Catholic School, Junction Avenue School, and Granada High School, from which he graduated in the class of 1977. He was a talented trombonist and played in the Granada jazz band, the Bernie Berke goodtime band, T-bone party (a quartet of Bob Boring's trombone students), and in the pit orchestras for high school musical productions beginning with "The Music Man" in the summer of 1973. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1982, was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps, and rose to the rank of captain. As a civilian, he became purchasing supervisor for the city of Chino, where he was employed until his death from cancer on May 9, 1991. He was survived by his wife, Jill Van Slambrouck Logsdon (GHS, 1979), and daughter, Sarah Logsdon; his parents, Ken and Connie Logsdon of Livermore; sisters Catherine (Logsdon) Harding (GHS, 1971) and Laura Kraft; and brothers Tim Logsdon (GHS, 1980), Dennis Logsdon, and Vince Logsdon.
