In high school, Dennis was a member of Block L (football, swimming, golf, and basketball), Student Assembly, and was King of the Junior Prom. After high school, Dennis was drafted into the Army and served in Viet Nam with Company A of the 1/35th Infantry. He was killed in action on November 9, 1967.
